On December 15, Oppo plans to launch a new clamshell smartphone namely the Find N2 Flip. Some leaks about this smartphone are already circulating on the web. If these rumors turn out to be true, this device will probably be one of the best clamshell phones of this year 2022. But will it be tough enough to compete with the Galaxy Z Flip 4 that has long influenced the clamshell phone industry? We will find out in this article.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes in purple bora, graphite, rose gold, blue, yellow, white, navy, khaki and red. It measures 165.2 x 71.9 x 6.9 mm when unfolded and 84.9 x 71.9 x 15.9 mm when folded. It weighs 187g. Its design includes a Gorilla Glass Victus+ back panel and an aluminum frame. It is IPX8 certified water resistant (Up to 1.5 m for up to 30 min). Samsung claims that its device offers increased resistance to drops and scratches.

According to our source, the Oppo Find N2 Flip would feature a 6.8-inch main display that relies on AMOLED technology with LTPO. This HDR10+ display is said to have a resolution of 1080 x 2640 pixels at 419 dpi and a refresh rate of 120Hz. As for the cover screen, we expect a 3.26-inch AMOLED panel.
In terms of display, the two phones are almost equivalent. However, let’s still note that the Oppo Find N2 will come with a slightly larger cover screen.
Which one is the better performer?
Our source reveals that Oppo’s next phone would be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset accompanied by a Mali-G710 MC10 GPU. This chipset would be supported by 8 or 12 GB of RAM associated with 128 or 256 GB of internal storage. On the software side, Oppo plans to equip its device with an Android 13 system with ColorOS 13 interface.
Samsung’s phone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC accompanied by an Adreno 730 GPU. This chipset is backed by 8GB of RAM coupled with 128, 256 or 512GB of storage. It does not have a micro SD slot. This phone is equipped with an Android 12 system with One UI 5 interface.
The processors in these phones have been tested on Nanorview. The Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 had a score of 92 against 93 for the Dimensity 9000+. So these two chipsets would be almost equivalent in terms of power.
In addition, Oppo’s device will offer more RAM while the Z Flip 4 will offer the most storage space. So the Find N2 Flip would be better than the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in terms of performance.
Speaking of photography, on the Oppo phone we expect a main camera of 50 MP (wide angle) coupled with an ultra-wide angle sensor of 8 MP. The front panel will house a 32 MP front camera.
On the back, the Z Flip 4 has two cameras of 12 MP each (wide angle and ultra wide angle). For selfies, this device has a 10 MP sensor.
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 had a DXOMARK score of 112 at the 63rd position among the best shooting phones in the world. Since the Oppo Find N2 Flip is not yet released, its camera has not yet been tested. However, we could expect it to do better than its rival in terms of photography.
The Z Flip 4 is powered by a non-removable 3,700 mAh Li-Po battery. It supports 25W wired fast charge (50% charge in 30 min), 15W wireless charge as well as 4.5W reverse wireless charge.
The Oppo smartphone would have a more powerful battery. It is a non-removable Li-Po battery of 4,300 mAh. In addition, this phone would be compatible with a 44W wired fast charge.
The fact that the Oppo Find N2 Flip is not yet official, did not prevent us from comparing it to the Galaxy Z Flip 4, one of the best flip phones of the moment. As a result, we found that both phones offer almost the same display. However, the Find N2 Flip is said to be more powerful and better than its rival in terms of battery. While the Z Flip on the other hand has a larger external display.
