The best spy cameras allow you to protect yourself without being noticed. They are different from normal security cameras, because they are much more discreet. In this article, we have selected for you the 10 best of the moment.
Ray-Ban Stories
The result of a partnership between Ray-Ban and Meta, they feature a dual 5MP camera, offering a photo resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, and video at 30fps, 1184 x 1184 pixels. The main attraction here is an eye point perspective when recording hands-free.
Obviously, outside of a James Bond movie, the creep factor is high, so Ray-Ban included a colored light indicator on the front of the glasses that lights up when the camera is recording. That said, most people probably won’t realize you’re filming them, so it’s up to you to decide if using these glasses is appropriate and/or legal.

Fredi mini hidden camera
The Fredi mini hidden camera meets all the requirements most people look for in a spy camera. About the size of a breath mint, it can detect motion, shoot 1080p video, capture images to an optional microSD card or record on a constant loop, and even see in the dark.
You can set up an alarm notification on your phone, and the camera will send images to your email address. So you can monitor how the nanny is getting along with the kids, or how the dog you left alone is doing. It also has six infrared LEDs and a 5m night vision distance, so you can let it monitor proceedings while you sleep, if you wish.

NinjaPro 2-in-1 wall clock
A nice looking spy solution, this wall clock containing a spy camera won’t look out of place in an office or kitchen. The lens is well hidden, so it’s unlikely to be discovered – and the clock works, so it has everyday use too. Video recording is motion activated, triggering an app on your phone, but also saving the footage to an SD card.

Blink Mini
The camera can film in full HD and comes with a range of security features, including motion detection and infrared night vision. It also has a two-way audio function, in case you need to yell at a pet that gets too close to the treat drawer.
The main drawback of this camera is that it doesn’t have an SD card slot and, in fact, no internal storage. If you want to back up footage and images, you’ll either need to sign up for a subscription to get online storage, or pay the same price as the camera for the Sync Module 2 hub, which lets you transfer footage to a USB stick or similar device.
Price: €34 to €69
Arlo Essential Spotlight
Unlike many of the other products in the Arlo line, it doesn’t require the Arlo SmartHub to operate, although you can connect it if you have one. It’s a well-equipped spy camera with motion detection and an effective viewing range of 300 feet.
The Arlo Essential Spotlight’s battery can last quite a while (up to six months depending on the manufacturer), but be aware that it’s not removable. This means you have to disassemble the entire setup when it’s time to recharge it.
Setting up the camera is an easy process, and once it’s connected to your phone via the app, you’ll be able to control a host of functions, though it’s much less useful if you don’t continue your free trial of the Arlo Smart subscription service.

And it works with Alexa, so you can view live feeds or disable the camera simply by using your voice.
Full HD recording is available during the day, but at night it switches to infrared HD night vision so you never miss a second. Although it’s weatherproof, we recommend the Blink Outdoor camera if you want a fully waterproof version.

Kami Indoor Camera
The Kami indoor camera may not be the most discreet device, but it offers 360-degree coverage with its rotating camera. It also offers full HD recording and has a rather elegant design. It’s powered by a micro USB port located near the base, which is also motorized so it can rotate and track any movement it detects.
Like many of the spy cameras on this list, it can be controlled and configured using a smartphone app and the user can select the settings that govern its behavior. The biggest drawback of this camera is that it only stores six-second clips for up to a week, and you’ll need to invest in a subscription service for additional storage.
