The iPhone 14 Pro as well as the Find X5 Pro are two competing smartphones with very interesting features that might have some similarities.
The Find X5 Pro is Oppo’s smartphone launched on February 24, 2022 at a price of 1,299 euros for its unique 12GB RAM + 256GB storage version. The iPhone 14 Pro was officially presented on 7 September 2022. This new phone from Apple is available from €1,329 for its basic version.

Which one has the best design?

For the iPhone 14 Pro, Apple is offering a choice of four colours, namely Deep Purple, Jet Black, Silver and Gold.
The design of the iPhone 14 Pro is galvanised by its Ceramic Shield front and textured matte glass back. With its stainless steel design, it measures 147.5 x 71.5 x 7.85mm and weighs 206g.
Oppo’s smartphone carries on the elegance of its predecessor but with some changes. Its front panel features a punch that houses its front camera and is placed in the upper left corner of the screen.
This is different from the iPhone 14 Pro where the front camera is placed almost in the middle of the top corner of the screen.
The Oppo Find X5 Pro measures 163.7 x 73.9 x 8.5 mm and weighs 218 g. It is available in Ceramic White and Ice Black. Its panel is slightly curved on the sides.
For the design of its Find X5 Pro, Oppo has opted for an aluminium chassis and a glass back. The screen of the Find X5 Pro is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
Like the iPhone 14 Pro, the Find X5 Pro is IP68 certified and is effectively water and dust resistant, and the fingerprint reader is located underneath the screen.

The iPhone 14 Pro features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with OLED technology. This HDR display offers a resolution of 2,556 x 1,179 pixels at 460 dpi. With ProMotion technology, the iPhone 14 Pro’s screen has an adaptive refresh rate with a maximum value of 120 Hz.
The display of the Apple smartphone has a standard brightness of 1000 nits and a maximum brightness of 2000 nits (peak brightness). Thanks to the oleophobic coating, the screen is effectively resistant to fingerprints.
The Find X5 Pro is equipped with an AMOLED display with LTPO 2.0 in size 6.7 inches. It is an HDR10+ display that enjoys a QHD+ resolution of 3216 x 1440 pixels at 525 ppi. The Find X5’s display has a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz and offers a standard brightness of 500 nits and a maximum brightness of 1300 nits.
From this part, it appears that the Find X5 Pro’s screen has the largest size, the highest definition and embeds more advanced technology. While the iPhone 14 Pro offers the most durable and brightest screen. What about performance?
Which one performs better?
Underneath the iPhone 14 Pro’s slab is an A16 Bionic chip accompanied by a 5-core GPU and backed by 6GB of RAM. It has 128, 256, 512 or 1 TB of storage space.
The 14 Pro is equipped with version 16 of the iOS operating system which offers very good security and easily preserves your privacy.
Oppo’s phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset accompanied by an Adreno 730 GPU, and has 12GB of RAM coupled with 256GB of storage at its disposal. It runs on Android 12 with the ColorOS 12.1 interface.

The 14 Pro has a 48MP main sensor on the back, which is placed next to a flash, and three other cameras, each with 12MP. For selfies, it has a 12MP front-facing sensor with a flash.

Which one has the better battery?
The iPhone 14 Pro has a built-in 3,200 mAh Li-ion battery. It supports fast wired charging powered by a 20W (or higher) adapter. It is compatible with 15W MagSafe and 7.5W Qi wireless charging.
With its battery, the iPhone 14 Pro has a battery life of 20 hours of video streaming, 23 hours of video playback and up to 75 hours of audio playback.
According to Apple, using a 20W or higher adapter, the 14 Pro’s battery will take 30 minutes to reach 50% charge, so no more than an hour to fully charge.
Oppo’s phone packs a 5,000mAh battery and supports 80W Super VOOC wired fast charging which provides 50% charge in just 12 minutes.
Thanks to the 50W AirVOOC charge that this phone supports, the battery is fully charged (100%) in just 47 minutes. The Find X5 Pro also supports a 10W reverse charge.
For the curious, reverse wireless charging allows you to use your smartphone’s battery to charge other devices.

In the end, we can say that the iPhone 14 Pro is the phone with the best performance and the most powerful camera. For the display and autonomy, it is the Find X5 Pro that takes the lead.
For a budget of around €1300, we strongly recommend the Find X5 Pro. But for €200 more, opt for the iPhone 14 Pro.
