With Google, Promised Thing Is Due – using Gmail, users can track their packages without having to wade through those confusing shipping emails. It took a few months for this to happen, but we are now on the right track since the beginning of this month. The Gmail parcel-tracking feature is now live and you can enable it on your smartphone.

Turn on Gmail parcel tracking

After installing the latest Gmail app update, all you need to do is manually enable the Gmail parcel-tracking feature from the app’s settings menu. To enable this feature, follow these steps:

  • Launch the Gmail app
  • Tap the icon in the top left corner of the app.
  • Then select Settings
  • Select the email account.
  • You will find the option to track packages.
  • Enable the feature

After enabling this feature, when you open a shipping email and view dynamic card information at the top of your inbox with delivery status information, you can see if your package has been shipped, is in transit, or has been delivered.

Google announces that Gmail package tracking should work with all major carriers, although it did not provide the names of supported carriers. However, we can see that the feature works for Amazon packages. Gmail will show you updates when your package is delayed and display the shipping email at the top of your inbox if there is an important update regarding your package.
